June 24th 2023. Concert with ‘Ukrainian Harmony’, the Ukrainian Refugees Ladies’ Choir, based in St Austell. As well as being a thoroughly enjoyable evening of singing, the concert raised almost £1000 to support the children of Ukraine.
The choir performed twelve songs, and Oll an Gwella added three pieces from their Cornish repertoire. The ladies’ singing of seven Ukrainian songs was in wonderful contrast to our traditional male voice singing.

Newquay Male Voice Choir gave their first performance since 4th March 2020 on the Killacourt on Sunday 8th August 2021. In glorious sunshine the choir assembled on the newly refurbished bandstand to entertain an audience of locals and visitors with a range of their most popular pieces. The choir expressed their gratitude to Lane Theatre, Newquay, for their hospitality in allowing the choir to practise outdoors in their carpark for the last three months, allowing them to prepare for this momentous outing.
In June 2021 the choir elected Roy Truscott as its Honorary Vice-President. 93 year old Roy, one of our top tenors, was one of the original members of the choir when it reformed in 1974, and has served the choir well for almost 50 years.
Members of the choir sang a selection of songs for Roy and the other residents of Pemberthy Care Home, Newquay, where Choir Chairman John Rhodes presented the certificate to Roy.
